Introduction to AI Literacy
Are you curious about AI but unsure where to begin? Athabasca University Faculty of Graduate Studies is inviting participants to enroll in a self-directed online micro course called Introduction to AI Literacy. This short course is designed to empower learners with a foundational understanding of the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how to develop essential skills needed to navigate this rapidly evolving field.
This course is tailored for learners of all backgrounds, aiming to empower you through six key areas of AI literacy outlined in the AI Literacy Framework. You'll explore the fundamentals of AI, develop data proficiency, hone critical thinking skills, examine diverse applications and ethical considerations, and look ahead to the future of AI-augmented work.
What to Expect:
- Interactive Learning: Engage with AI concepts through dynamic content and hands-on activities.
- Personalized Journey: Begin with a self-assessment to understand your current knowledge and conclude with a reflection to measure your progress.
- Flexible Learning: Learn at your own pace, on your own schedule.
- Reflective Approach: Experience learning without the pressure of summative assessments, utilizing reflection questions, peer-to-peer insights, and formative assessments to enhance understanding.
This course provides approximately 8 to 12 hrs of learning, from beginning to end.
The course will be available to access April 15, 2025. We have built a survey into the course for your feedback and encourage your suggestions. You will also be awarded a digital badge upon completion of a final activity.
Space for free access to the course is limited and will be determined on a first-come first serve basis. Please ensure that you use your university email address to be freely enrolled into the course. On April 15th, you will receive a link to enrol in the course.
