Athabasca University Graduate Students’ Association
Is governed by the GSA Council, consisting of an Executive Committee of four graduate students and Student Council. Each year, the GSA holds official elections for Executive positions and Council positions.

Our Executive Director manages our day to day operations, and acts as a liaison between graduate students and the GSA. The Executive Director will help you get in contact with the appropriate person, whether that is one of our fantastic council members or a staff member at AU.

Meaghan manages the GSA office. Her role involves providing guidance and supporting the graduate student leaders of Athabasca University. She is the co-chair of the annual Athabasca University Graduate Student Research Conference and has over 15 years of leadership experience. Meaghan joined AUGSA in 2018. Prior to AUGSA, Meaghan’s career path progressed through the private, municipal government, and education sectors. With a background in information technology, she focused on IT client support, business transformational services, and technology training services. During her IT career, her love for adult education became prominent when tasked with building and managing a technology training branch to support and lead enterprise-wide IT projects and systems. She holds an MBA and post-baccalaureate diploma in management from Athabasca University. She is currently pursuing a second master’s degree, Master of Education (Post-Secondary Studies), from Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN). Meaghan lives in Calgary, Alberta with her family. A big part of Meaghan’s role with AUGSA is to act as a liaison between graduate students and the GSA, so please feel free to contact Meaghan if you’re looking for information or have questions about AUGSA.
