The Athabasca University Graduate Students’ Association (AUGSA) and the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) at Athabasca University (AU) invite graduate students and 2021-2022 alumni to submit abstracts and posters for the 2022 Graduate Student Research Conference (GSRC), which will take place virtually on October 14 and 15.

The GSRC is a multi-disciplinary academic research forum that brings together masters and doctoral students and alumni, staff, and faculty from all disciplines at AU. In addition to facilitating research links between graduate students and alumni, the GSRC offers the opportunity to showcase student research, and to develop and gain research presentation experience in a supportive peer environment. It is the ideal setting for thesis students to test themselves and prepare for their public thesis defense and high-profile national and international research conferences. 

This year's conference theme, "Better Together", invites us to join our efforts and our creative minds, in this challenging COVID-19 environment that has tested our resilience, to create and mobilize knowledge that not only enhances the student experience in our programs, but also contributes to improving lives and well-being in our communities. This theme also calls for the integration of the principles of inclusion, accessibility, diversity, and indigenization in the development and execution of research programs and in the dissemination of their findings in all key research areas at AU. They include, among others, open and distance education and learning technologies innovation, Canadian studies, globalization and cultural studies, Indigenous education, space and environmental sciences, project management, and nursing and health management. 

True to tradition, submissions from all disciplines are encouraged and accepted, whether the research is completed or in progress. New graduate students who have not started their own research are also encouraged to attend to gain experience.
